Listed on the National Historic Register, the Cottage at Swathmoor has been in the proprietor’s family for more than 100 years.

This completely private cottage has the modern amenities of a bed and breakfast, without the shared common spaces. Our cottage is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of your schedule without having to venture too far out into the rural country to get the experience.

Situated on more than 300 acres on the outskirts of Mebane, North Carolina, the uniqueness of this location will allow you to unplug from your worries completely, while remaining close to stores/restaurants in the event of an emergency. The cottage is the perfect place to relax and recharge.

Swathmoor is a working farm, but we take care of the chores around here while you enjoy a slower pace.  Take a walk around the grounds. Explore the creek and waterfalls. Mosey around the pastures and barns.  Head down to the pond and try your luck at fishing. Visit the main house. Or scoot into town for some shopping at the Tanger Outlets or in Mebane’s quaint downtown district. It’s your time and there is no hurry.
